Duke’s OLLI Program to Offer Retirement Course

Local Financial Planner Janet Ramsey, MBA, CFP will be offering a course entitledWealth Planning in the New Normal, Navigating Retirement Decisions in Rough Waters as part of Duke University’s OLLI program. The course will run from January 20 to March 31, 2011. Greg Herman-Giddens will speak on non-tax reasons to do estate planning.

Janet Ramsey is a well-known financial educator, speaker and counselor to educational, nonprofit and professional groups throughout the nation. For over 28 years, Ms. Ramsey has advised families and owners of closely-held businesses in creative ways to combine their life planning with their financial planning. Her counsel and assistance to them has helped them plan for retirement income, significant savings in estate and income taxes and provided successful strategies for larger and more meaningful multi-generational family wealth transfers. A native of Raleigh, NC and a graduate of the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School in Chapel Hill with both a BS in Business Administration and a Masters in Business Administration, Janet lives in Durham with her husband, Neil.
